The town square in Riomaggiore is situated very near to the Riomaggiore train station.  The Cinque Terre Park Information Centre (Parco Nazionale delle Cinque Terre) is located on the square. 

Visitors wishing to hike along the Cinque Terre Trail must purchase a special hiking pass.  They can be purchased for one, two, three or seven days.  The revenue obtained from the sale of the passes is used to maintain this magnificent trail system.
